Ketchup Part I

I think to properly catch up on everything that has been going on - which may be more for my own personal memory more than for anybody's entertainment - I better go all the way back to Christmas break when the Marine was home.
The Marine was home for two weeks. Not nearly enough time in my humble opinion, but more than enough for him. Surely not because he can't stand to be around me for two weeks, but because home is no longer home for him. He needs the routine and schedule, the other marines, and all the fun marine things. I try not to take this too personally.

We didn't really do a whole lot. And I did my absolute best to not force him into 300 pictures. I think he should love all the attention. He thinks otherwise.

We did do a whole lot of this.

It was great fun. Ha. I really didn't mind. It reminded me of the olden days of chilling in the basement reading a book and watching him play his silly games. It also reminded me of the times when the two of those boys would try to teach me to play... Haha. Well at least over break I got a whole 7 kills in one game! That's definitely my personal best. Ever.

We both got to spent a decent amount of time with our monsters. Yes. I think we can safely call them ours. They are definitely not our children, but we love them like they are. Spoil them rotten, too!

His family had family pictures taken while he was home and they ever so kindly invited me to come along. The lady that took them did a pretty amazing job considering the group she had to work with. Nine adults and six kids!

On Christmas and Christmas Eve we had to actually decide if we were doing things together or apart. Where we were going. How long we would be there. Working around all those families can be a hassle! For the most part, I think we did a pretty decent job. Partly because we spent most of Christmas day apart so we could each be with our own family. I'm excited for a time where there will be less stress.

Let's be real. When is that ever going to happen?

I woke the Marine up nice and early Christmas day and made him open his presents so we could get to my mom's house for Christmas before church.

He appreciated my nagging. See?

He wouldn't play my games so I just piled presents on top of him and continued to snap pictures. :)

Because we spent most of the day apart, I got to meet a brand new edition into the Kennedy family.

Look and adore him, because I sure do.

Awww.. I just want to steal him. Although by now, he's probably walking and talking. I need to go live with them and just love on their baby!

He was really the highlight of my Christmas day!

One of the presents the Marine got for Christmas a pair of hair clippers. Needless to say those got taken for a run the day after.

It started innocent enough...

I really wish this picture weren't blurry, it cracks me up.

But then..... the Marine decided I had more skills than I really do. Which is none. I have zero skills. And thought I should give him a high and tight. Ha.

Went kind of like this...

And nobody could tell me what to do next

So it ended in a hair cut like this...

Thankfully, family pictures were finished by this point in time. Not that it looked bad. He can pull of any length of hair. I will just never touch those dreaded things again. Ever.

The rest of his time home went by pretty quickly without anything too exciting happening. When it was time for him to leave, we nearly missed his flight. Luckily, we made it, but it was very close. The worst part was having him leave with no definite date of seeing him again. Those are the worst.

I'm shooting for a spring break trip or a birthday trip. We shall see how that goes.

And to end this post nicely, here's a quick picture of what I'm doing right now.

 Isn't my mug precious?
