Tropical Depressions

I survived! The 12 hour drive from Tulsa to Pensacola wasn't nearly as bad as I expected, but there were a couple hours in the middle of the night that were pretty rough. It was super exciting to finally get to Cody, after getting lost in Jackson and Pensacola none the less. Of course, now that I am here there is a tropical depression going on that is going to dump more rain on us than Kansas has seen all year.

I did not have to pretend to be Cody's cousin this weekend in order to get him off base because WE'RE ENGAGED!!

Just kidding! I was fiancee Stephanie this weekend instead of cousin Stephanie in order to get Cody off NAS. But we are not actually engaged. No worries!

I was absolutely exhausted yesterday.  I left Tulsa around 7 pm and didn't arrive in Pensacola until 8 the next morning. I got hit on by an Indian man at the gas station in Little Rock, stared down in Jackson, and lost in Pensacola. It was quite brilliant and tiring. When I picked Cody up at 8:30 we had a total of 6.5 hours to kill before we could check in to our hotel and take a nap. We got the joy of exploring Pensacola.

Look at Cody the Grey Blob... At least he can match!
And of course, tropical depression or not, I drug the poor boy to the beach (which was red flag) and made him get out of the car.

Apparently we can't play in those waves

Yep, even made him take a picture
A great weekend is in the making! We are off for another fun-filled day of forcing the kid out of the car and into Pensacola!
